Russia cleaning up the Capital of Gambling Dens and Night Clubs
 
The Russian Federal law related to the prevention of the gambling dens and night clubs all over Russia except for four areas took into effect from the first of July this year.

Moscow municipality declared that all the concerned systems verified that in the first eve of July all the night clubs and the 513 gambling dens in Moscow were locked.

Many of the banned club owners decided to turn them into fast food restaurants, or luxurious restaurants.

The shutdown of night clubs and gambling dens was acknowledged by Russian Parliament in October 2007 and was ratified later by former Russian president Vladimir Putin (the present prime minister)
Russian authorities gave these owners a deadline ending on June, 30 in order to finish their works or turn into other activities. The economic crisis Repercussions did not affect the decree of the authorities which refused the repeated requests of club owners to grant them an additional deadline till 2012.

It is worthy mentioning that the law does not include Primore and Altay provinces as well as Kalingrade county and the area between Rostov county and Krasnodar province.

Moscow mayor Yuri Logkov who was enthusiastic about cleaning the capital of night clubs and gambling dens, confirms that the importance of the step which fight unethical activities.

On the other hand, the law opponents point out that the state balance will lose million of dollars which were collected as night club income taxes in addition to the growing number of the unemployed.
