EGYPTAIR Celebrates New Service to Washington DC
 
EGYPTAIR, Egypts flag carrier and the 21st Star Alliance member, celebrated inaugural flight to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) Tuesday between the Cairo and Washington.

We are extremely delighted to launch a non-stop service between Washington, D.C., and Cairo. We are equally excited about deploying our newest state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on this important route; the spacious cabin interior allows our customers to move with ease and gives them a greater feeling of comfort. We look forward to welcoming guests onboard as they travel to Cairo and beyond across our global network, said Capt. Mohamed Elian, EGYPTAIR Airlines Vice Chairman.

"This is a long sought after flight. It is also welcomed by our passengers all over the world, who wish to visit the US Capital via a non-stop flight. It fulfills part of our network expansion strategy, especially in North America, as we already serve daily to New York City.

We are thrilled to add EGYPTAIR to our growing roster of 34 international carriers at Dulles International Airport, offering 70 daily flights to nearly five dozen nonstop international destinations across the globe, said Jerome L. Davis, executive vice president and chief revenue officer of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. This new service offers Washington, D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia-area passengers seamless new access to Cairos many leisure, business and cultural destinations.

There was a festive atmosphere at the gate, as passengers on the inaugural flight mingled amidan elaborate setting of model pyramids and actors dressed in ancient Egypt attire and snapped selfies with iconic Egyptian landmarks at a photo booth. EGYPTAIRs Chief Business Officer, welcomed customers and the recognized the benefits of the new routes year-round service connecting the two capital cities and connecting the U.S. Capital Region to The City of a Thousand Minarets.

The nonstop route will operate three times weekly aboard Boeings 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, which EGYPTAIR took initial delivery of in late March. The aircraft features a two-class, 309-passenger layout, including 30 Super Diamond fully-flat business-class seats and 279 seats in Economy. Passengers in both classes enjoy a wide range of complimentary world-class in-flight entertainment, including movies and shows from around the world and TV and audio programming for passengers of all ages.
