200 years ago, scientists in New Zealand found eggs belonging to some kind of reptiles that dates back to dinosaurs' era.
The scientists found out four eggs belonging to an animal called "Tauttara" that is a kind of reptile resembling lizard and has a gland in the forefront of its head as well as a third eye. The reptile is the only one in the world remaining from "Asfinodon" kind that had appeared in reptile age 225 million years ago.
All types of reptiles belonging to that age have become extinct 60 million years ago, so scientists called Tauttara the "living fossil".
Discovering Tauttara is the first concert evidence that the animal breeds again in New Zealand.
Researches showed that eggs were laid in a hole made by a female Tauttara and they shall hatch next March if circumstances remain normal!!
