Japanese Peace Stone went to Egypt
 
Egypt has been selected by The Japanese "Hiroshima for Peace" association to be awarded the "peace stone" thanks to its leading role in making achieving peace and stability in the Middle East.
The association also appreciated the great efforts exerted by Egyptian president Hosny Mubarak in promoting peace process and disarming atomic weapons from the region.
Farouk Hosny, Egyptian Minister of Culture has decided to place the stone in the Opera park , and hold a celebration under the auspices of Egypt's First Lady Suzan Mubarak on the 20th of April, 2009.
The celebration would be attended by Many outstanding figures according to Dr. Abdel Menem Kamel, chairman of the Egyptian Opera House, who also added that "Hiroshima for Peace" is one of the Japanese civil associations founded in 1991 for the purpose of calling for peace among countries and giving up violence through cultural and intellectual collaboration in order to maintain humanity and the future of coming generations all over the world.
Kamel pointed out that Hiroshima "peace stone" is what is left from the remains of destruction caused by the atomic bomb in the Japanese city of Hiroshima. It is a world symbolic message stressing man’s status apart from ethnicities religions or races.
