U.S researchers proved that the extracts of coral reefs in the Red Sea are useful in treating skin cancer.
The scientific research team headed by Professor Chandrar Dividi from American University of Dakota said that sarcophine - diol, a chemical substance that can be isolated from the light coral layer in the Red Sea , can prevent the growth of cancer cells and eliminates them.
In the study published in “Translational Oncology "magazine and whose abstract was published in the Indian Times newspaper, Dividi said that it is possible to use Sakrofin – diol as a chemical treatment.”
The study also showed that the treatment of cancer cells by that substance over various long times, has alleviated the tumours.
Dividi said, “We need more studies on cell transplant in order to identify the mechanisms whereby this substance functions, therefore, it can be used for treating all diseases”.
