New flights from Muscat To Alexandria Next May
 
In commemoration of its foray into Alexandria from 31st May this year, Oman Air held a press conference in Four Season hotel Alexandria today.

Jaffer Juma Al Lawati, Regional Vice President Middle East and Africa, Oman Air addressed the media gathered for the occasion, along with the Oman Air’s Country Manager for Egypt Ahmed El Gendy.

The new route is part of the National Carrier’s dynamic expansion plan, providing a growing global network and guests with even more choice.

Oman Air’s first flight from Alexandria is set to commence on Friday, 31st May 2019 with WY 402 departing from Burj Al Arab airport, Alexandria at 2320 local time and arriving Muscat the next day at 0615 local time.

The corresponding flight WY 401, which would be Oman Air’s inaugural flight to Alexandria, leaves Muscat at 2010 arriving at Alexandria at 2200 local time. The four weekly flights, from Burj Al Arab airport, Alexandria to Muscat, will be operated on Mondays and Tuesdays departing at 0005 arriving Muscat at 0615, and departing at 2320, arriving Muscat at 0530 next day on Wednesdays and Fridays.

The four weekly flights from Muscat will depart on Sundays and Mondays at 2055 arriving Alexandria at 2305 and on Wednesdays and Fridays will depart Muscat at 2010, arriving Alexandria at 2220.

Paul Starrs Chief Commercial Officer of Oman Air said: “The new route of Alexandria, apart from other new destinations that we have in plan for this year, is of great importance and is vital to the development of our sustained programme of network expansion. By opening the new routes, we can offer more destinations to our guests, while also expanding the hub function of Muscat International Airport.

For our esteemed guests from Alexandria, apart from providing a direct connection to Oman, Oman Air also connects them to various interesting domestic and international destinations, in GCC and Far East. Our easy and frequent connections to various points in the GCC ensures that the guests can fly further from Muscat within an hour and to Far East within seven hours.”

Jaffar Juma AL Lawati, Regional Vice President Middle East and Africa of Oman Air, commented:“2018 had been a great year for Oman Air and the momentum will continue in 2019 as well.

Today’s announcement of this new destination is in line with Oman Air’s expansion strategy to encourage tourism between the two cities and also attract more inbound visitors to the Sultanate from this beautiful and iconic city.

Not only will our Egyptian guests from Alexandria experience Oman Air’s award-winning service, but also enjoy the famed hospitality and natural beauty that Oman is known for.”

Later the same day, the management team inaugurated the Oman Air Sales office at the Green Plaza Mall, Smouha.
