Important Monuments Discoveries in Ain Shams

Important Monuments Discoveries in Ain Shams

The Egyptian monuments mission found important pharoanic discoveries in Ain Shams Area in Cairo. This area where hadn’t been found many monuments discoveries.
Among these discoveries remains of huge statue for Ramsis II, and a huge temple for the king himself.
About this discovery, the archeologists said this discovery shows a big palace that was built by Ramsis II in “OWN” city the capital of the sun in the pharaohs age, that well-known now “Ain Shams”.
The mission also found remains of a tomb inside the temple; this ensures the custom of the ancient Egyptians to build their tombs inside the big temple for protecting them, as it happened with “Tanees, El rubaa Sar hill and Al Balamo hill.” The original floors in the temple were made of limestone with floors of sand.
In addition these discoveries the mission found some painted broken stones, between them special “Talatat” stones from El Amarna era, these stones represented king Aknaton in Al Shams City “OWN”. They were used as a piece for ceilings and producing statues, which were made from “El Quartz”.
